Get Connected With The Salesforce Ohana
Are you on a Salesforce island? Solo admin at a company? Don't have anyone to bounce around ideas? Looking for advice from other Salesforce professionals?
What you need are ways to communicate with others in the Salesforce community.
There are great ways to connect with other Salesforce professionals virtually or in person. Here are some of the resources and tools I use to stay connected.
Online
Your workplace may have its own slack for your day to day communication. There is a Slack dedicated to the Salesforce community.
Salesforce Ohana Slack is a Slack Workspace that’s available to connect with the salesforce community and get real-time help 24/7.
Not a fan of slack? Try out discord. Salesforce Exchange Discord is a small but active community, connecting every day. There are Salesforce discussions, office hours, and even memes. Discord is very similar to slack but with a few key twists that could make it more appealing to some. One of the features that discord has is an always-open voice channel to hop in and work through problems.
Facebook Groups
There are amazing Salesforce related Facebook groups. You can find a group for just about anything. Just do a quick search for Salesforce on Facebook and you see a ton of different groups. I’m sure there’s a group tailored to your specific situation but if there isn’t consider making one.
Here’s a group for Salesforce Learners.
Here’s a group for Salesforce Admins.
Salesforce Groups/Trailblazer Community
Think huge chatter groups created and curated by the Salesforce Ohana. Just like Facebook groups, there are a lot of them. Some of the groups are managed by actual Salesforce employees. This can often get you sneak peeks and news for Salesforce products. Of course, if you don’t find what you are looking for you can create your own.
Reddit r/Salesforce and r/SalesforceDeveloper
There is a decently active Salesforce community on Reddit. It can produce some really interesting conversations around Salesforce but also be a bit spammy sometimes.
If you spend most of your day on Reddit as it is, you might as well check out the Salesforce subreddits.
Being in the Salesforce field you’ve probably used stack overflow or the Salesforce Stack exchange. If you want to test your skills and earn a reputation while doing it this is where to look. This an unconventional community in the sense that real communication comes from asking, answering, and commenting on questions.

Trailblazers Answer is just like the Stack Exchange but it was created by Salesforce. I generally find it easier to use Stack Exchange but it’s still an option for asking and answering questions.
In-Person
Meeting people online is all cool but sometimes it’s nice to vent about Salesforce in person over a beer. Here are some ways to find in-person Salesforce Ohana gatherings. I know with the current times it’s a little harder to get together but the groups still make it work.
Local Salesforce User Group/Trailblazer Community Group
My personal favorite meetups are the local Salesforce community user groups. These are often put on by the community but sponsored by Salesforce. User groups are a great way to meet and learn from others in your local Salesforce area. There’s often presentations, food, games, and Salesforce swag! If you haven’t been I’d highly recommend it. I am fortunate to live in an area that has multiple user groups.

Dreamin’ Events
Community-led regional Salesforce events. These regional events skip the fluff and are packed full of solid content and fun. The Dreamin’s are the perfect way to get to know others who are passionate about the Salesforce platform, reconnect with your Salesforce friends, and go home energized and inspired to achieve greatness. These can be a little harder to find because you may not have a Dreamin’ event near you. Credit to allthedreamin.com for having a list of some of the local events.

These events should need no introduction
If I missed your favorite way of connecting with the community leave a comment and I’ll add it to the list.
